Jamaica stud book with historical sketch of the turf
J. Thomson Palache,1892 I have not, so far, been able to read Palache's historical sketch of racing in Jamaica - copies of the book do not seem to exist in the antique books market, and in my old age I have become too lazy to get to the National Library to study their copy. However, his articles in the Gleaner, under the pen name "Old Turfite", may well give even more detail on the history of horse racing in Jamaica, and I hope to be able to put relevant extracts on the site. It would be an excellent service if his articles could be transcribed, collected, and made available on the web.
